John 20:17

Jesus saith unto her, Mary.” She turned herself, and saith unto him “Raboni”, which is to say Master.”

Mary Magdalene came to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. She was exhausted deeply morning the loss of her friend. Yet she felt strangely drawn the the tomb. Her meager offering of spices for his decaying body seemed so small compared to the miraculous freedom and love Jesus had given her. Weeping, Mary looked into the tomb, but Jesus was not there. His body was gone! Someone had taken Him away! Not only had she witnessed his cruel death, and now she was not allowed to offer the gift of lovingly attending to his body.. As she turned Mary cried out to the man standing near by saying”Sir, if you you have.have taken him away, tell me where you laid him.

Jesus didn’t scold Mary. He didn’t say “why are you weeping foolish woman”. He simply looked at her and said, “Mary”.At the sound of her name, she knew him. Her Master was alive

We sometimes feel as Mary did, alone and forgotten, but Jesus is always near. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Just call Him by name, and He will answer.
