Jesus took bread and blessed and brake it, and gave to them and said: Take, eat, this is my body. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave to them and they all drank of it. And he said unto them, this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many. Verily I say unto you. I will drinkno more of the fruit of the vine , until that day I drink it new in the kingdom of God. And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Many time when we are reading God’s word, little things that are called nuggets, seem to slip by. One of those nuggets I have missed in the many years that I have read and reread the Bible, was after taking of the bread and the cup of wine, they sang a hymn.
How could I have missed that, after taking of the last supper with our Lord and Savior, they sang a hymn. The singing of hymns are a praise and worship to our Lord, and to read that the Savior of the World, also sang a hymn to God.
I truly understand now why we as a body of believers, after taking of the bread and juice, sing a hymn of praise and worship. In our church we sing. “Bind us together Lord, bind us together in love.”
What an awesome feeling to know that I also, am in accord with those Apostle’s, that shared that last supper with our Lord Jesus Christ, sang a song of worship and praise.
Glory to God in the highest.
