Upon the cross forgiveness hung
The body pierced the battle won.
No more the cries for mercy heard
For God had sent, His holy word.
My soul can rest in grace allowed
That on the cross His head He bowed.
The cry was heard into eternity.
God loved you child, He died for thee.
