Nehemiah 1:4

Now when it came about when I heard these word, “I sat down and wept, and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.

Nehemiah was concerned for the people, and wept that many of them had not returned to Jerusalem after captivity by the Babylonians, now turned their back on the God of heaven, and began to worship idols.

As I read this scripture, my mind went back, to how many people we pray for, and pray over, after they have heard the word of God, turn away and return to their old ways.

We are told though that we do not judge. God will take care of them; our mission is to continue to pray for them.

Not a simple prayer, and go on our merry way, but a prayer that comes from the very bottom of our hearts.  Because their forever life depends on it.
