Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You.
Most of my life I have been told to read my Bible, and memorize scripture. These words have always made me feel as though I was being told what to do. I am the type of person that balks at being controlled. It has made me feel like I don’t have sense enough to figure something out myself.
It was not until I read Amos 8:11 did I began to realize that memorizing God’s Word, would someday be all I had in my heart to witness to someone, and lead them to my Lord and Savior.
Amos 8:11
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord GOD,
“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread,
Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the LORD.
